Christian Ziener

I earned my Master of Science in Media Technology at Technische Universität Ilmenau. I defended my master’s thesis, “Experimental Investigation into Capturing Performance-Relevant Conditions and Parameterizing Beamforming and Noise Reduction Algorithms”, under Prof. Karlheinz Brandenburg, the “father of MP3”. During my studies and my work as a student assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT in Ilmenau, in the Virtual Acoustics group, I focused primarily on directional sound control and noise reduction.

I have been a state-certified physiotherapist since 2019. I currently work as an audiologist at Helios Klinikum München West. After work, I develop my own audio and acoustics software every day.

I studied trumpet for one year with Prof. Matthias Höfs in Hamburg and am now a permanent member of the band project unplugged from Arnstadt. I compose and arrange, preferably for orchestra. I also enjoy recording and mixing my own music.
