Price

VinylSafe costs a one-time fee of €30.00, with no subscription and no follow-up costs. In accordance with Section 19 of the German VAT Act (small business regulation), no VAT is charged.

Operating systems

VinylSafe is available for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) and for Linux as an AppImage. The user interface is available in German, English and Italian.

Licence

One licence is valid for one device and is not time-limited. By activating VinylSafe, you agree to the licence agreement.

Install first, buy later

You may download and install VinylSafe before paying. This lets you check at your leisure that the installation works on your system and that the program starts. Payment is only required once you want to activate the software.

How to buy

1. Download Download the file for your operating system from the download page.

2. Verify authenticity (recommended) To make sure the file has not been altered, compare its checksum with the original value on the download page.

• Windows: Place the included batch script in the same folder as the installer and run it by double-clicking. It calculates the file’s checksum.
• Linux: Open a terminal in the download folder and enter sha256sum followed by the file name.

3. Install or launch

Windows: Double-click the installer and follow the on-screen steps. As the Windows version is not digitally signed, the following security messages may appear, for both the batch script and the installer:

• Windows Defender SmartScreen: “Windows protected your PC” appears, initially without a button to continue. Click the small “More info” link. The “Run anyway” button will then appear.
• Antivirus software: Some antivirus programs move unsigned files to quarantine as a precaution. If a file is missing after downloading, please check your antivirus quarantine.

Linux: An AppImage does not need to be installed. Make the file executable once, either via right-click → Properties → “Allow executing file as program” or in a terminal with chmod +x followed by the file name. Then launch VinylSafe by double-clicking. If the AppImage does not start, some distributions are missing the libfuse2 package, which you can install via your package manager.

4. Request a licence Launch VinylSafe and click “Create licence request”. Send me the copied text by email to info@vinylsafe.de.

5. Pay I will reply with the payment details. Payment is made by bank transfer.

6. Activate Once payment has been received, I will send you your licence file. Drag and drop it into the licence window and click “Restart now”. Done!
